Signature Bank of Georgia has named Mary Ladd as the winner of its inaugural “Volunteer-of-the-Year” award.

Signature Bank President, Freddie Deutsch, honored Ladd in a ceremony at the bank’s Sandy Springs headquarters. “Mary’s tireless energy and willingness to volunteer for a wide range of worthy organizations sets an example for us all to follow,” Deutsch said. “Giving up her own personal time outside of bank hours to help those less fortunate shows her dedication and commitment to the true spirit of volunteerism.”

"To me, volunteering is simply participating in community activities and events that I enjoy and that make my heart feel good."

Ladd’s volunteering ranged from working with the Community Assistance Center (CAC) and feeding the homeless at both Sandy Springs United Methodist Church  and Dunwoody United Methodist Church to helping a Better Sandy Springs and supporting Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Signature Bank of Georgia encourages its employees to volunteer in the Sandy Springs community  and this year 95 percent  of the bank’s employees logged nearly 200 hours of service. The bank encourages participation by giving employees up to four hours a month to volunteer at a place of their choice.

As “Volunteer of the Year,” Ladd accepted a $250 gift card as a thank you. Signature Bank will match this amount in giving to the organization of Ladd’s choice. She will also have her name engraved on a perpetual commemorative plaque to be displayed in the bank’s corporate office.

Ladd, who joined the bank when it first opened in 2005, currently holds the role of commercial client support manager. She is a resident of Sandy Springs.

“I am very thankful that the bank felt I was worthy of the award,” Ladd said. “To me, volunteering is simply participating in community activities and events that I enjoy and that make my heart feel good.”

Signature Bank of Georgia opened its doors in 2005 and is the only locallyowned community bank headquartered in Sandy Springs. The bank is located at 6065 Roswell Road, between Hammond and Hilderbrand Drives.
